He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sinology & Chinese Classics and a deep knowledge of TCM and Five Element Acupuncture. Jong Studied four years at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York, UK to gain his Diploma in Acupuncture. He studied both Master degree in Acupuncture and PhD in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Wales & studied his PhD topic under the prestige Professor Ju Bao Zhao at the Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China. Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy has been utilised for many centuries for many healing properties including sports injuries, spinal problems, detoxification, cellulite, organ weakness, abdominal conditions plus much more. Oils are massaged into the skin and glass or plastic cups are applied to the body and moved either on meridian (energy) points, to produce a deeply healing and stimulating drawing massage. The suction and warmth has a dramatic effect on the muscles, nerves and joints by moving blood and lymph, lifting the skin and helping fluid to flow.
This workshop will provide you with information on history, treatment of the body using acupressure points and/or cups, the importance and connection of Eastern and Western anatomy, where and when to apply the cups and WHY? Who you can treat safely including contra-indications, contra-actions, what symptoms or conditions this therapy will benefit, methods of use including protocol, health and safety and etiquette and vital information on its connection with wellbeing, nutrition, energy, meridians, aromatherapy oils plus much more.

Indian Head Massage

For over 1000 years, Indian Head massage has been used for cleansing, relaxation and medical purposes. During the course you will learn back, shoulder, upper arm, neck, scalp and face massage using natural plant based oils. It also includes the theory and history of the treatment, principles of ayurveda, meridian points and chakras. We include resources with diagrams and voice over via the theory online modules, consultations and aftercare guidance is covered as well as contra-indications. Upon completion of the online theory modules, you receive a PDF manual for reference. Some modules and examinations are competed online with full support available. On the day, you will be taught and assessed on the full routine and on completion of the course you will receive a fully accredited GTi certificate of both practical and theory from The Beauty Guild.

Thai reflexology

Traditional Thai Reflexology is a hands on branch of Traditional Thai Medicine, with teachings directly from authentic sources from Northern Thailand, Chang Mai. The original knowledge and techniques were carefully guarded secrets kept by the Buddhist monks of the Thai Royal Palace. They have since have been passed down through the generations.
Thai foot reflexology works on the feet, lower leg, and knees, freeing up blocked energy in the body's Sen energy channels to create a feeling of deep relaxation, balance, and well-being. The therapy will start with a prayer to Jivaka, Physician to Lord Buddha, and after a cleansing foot soak of Thai herbs, over 80 combinations of knuckling, kneading, massage and acupressure with and without a Thai wooden tool using Buddha Balms natural Thai Foot Balm, will help bring equilibrium to the client.

Aromatherapy diploma

The art of aromatherapy involves the use of essential oils, in order to help improve both the physical and emotional well-being of a client by treating the whole person. The basis of this eastern therapy is the use of essential oils and their ability to be absorbed into the blood stream through the largest organ, the skin, or the respiratory system. These oils initiate chemical changes through their reactions with hormones and enzymes, affecting both body and mind. This course will teach you everything you need to know in order to carry out a professional aromatherapy treatment with the ability to blend your own oils to make an “individual prescription” for the client to help with specific symptoms or conditions with a relaxing full body massage routine.
This course also covers the history and theories behind the treatment as well as code of conduct, etiquette, carrier oil and essential oil index with shelf life, what oils benefit different symptoms, consultation, how to recognise any contra-indications to treatment, the anatomy plus more.
This course is fully accredited by the Guild of Beauty Therapists and you will receive a certificate upon completion and does not require any previous qualifications.

Korean Hand Therapy - Introductory Level

This special event will be covering all an introductory level of Korean Hand Therapy, delivered by Dr Jong Biak.
This 2 day event covers an introduction to KHT, history, possible mechanisms underlying KHT, introduction to the three main theories, precautions and contraindications, correspondence theory and introduces Micro Meridian Theory, coverage of all micro meridians, Five element points on the meridians, depth pulse and 4 pulse points.
It can be practised fully both invasively and non-invasively and therefore, this workshop is open to all health practitioners who hold professional insurance to practice. Those whose insurance covers acupuncture can enhance their clinical skills, otherwise acupressure/non-invasive methods can be used.
It is a highly practical workshop combining lectures, demonstrations and supervised practice and will allow students to move easily from theory to full clinical application.

Reflexology is a gentle non-invasive therapy that encourages the body to balance and heal itself. It involves applying finger or thumb pressure to specific points on the feet. These points are called reflexes and they mirror the organs and structures of the body as well as a person’s emotional health. In this way, the hands and feet are mini aps or microcosms of the body that can be used to encourage holistic healing.

Acupuncture is based on ancient principles. It looks at pain and illness as signs that the body is out of balance. Acupuncturists are trained to use diagnostic techniques that focus on the individual, not their illness, and all symptoms relate to each other, and the principle of the treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body’s Qi, or vital energy cannot flow freely within the meridian channels.

This 2 day Body massage course follows the National Occupational Standards and covers reception, consultation, anatomy and physiology, contra-indications and contra-actions, skin conditions, preparing for treatments, massage techniques and a professional full body massage routine. The course is written and accompanied by images, online video clips and a voice-over with The Guild. Upon completions of the online theory modules, you will receive a PDF manual which you can refer back to. Theory modules are completed online with full online support.
Massage increases oxygen in the blood and releases toxins such as lactic acid from the muscles. It stimulates and renews skin reducing cellulite and improves lymphatic drainage. This treatments shortens recovery time from muscular strain and athletic injury and also has the ability to reduce stress, depression and anxiety.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is the ancient practice of heating Basalt (volcanic) stones and placing them on various areas of the body during the massage. They can either be left on tense spots or used by hand to aid in heating and relaxing sore muscles, the cold stones are also used to help reduce inflammation. The practice began among the Hindus in India approximatly 5,000 years ago and was called Ayurveda.
